Impact

Food security and profit, moving together

Ifenri's mission is to produce more safe food with less waste and less risk, and to make that profitable for farmers, partners and Ifenri. Neither half is traded for the other — and the levers below are how both move at once.

The two scoreboards

Measured on both, every time

A service that raises yield but destroys margin is not a success. A service that earns a margin but leaves farmers worse off is not either. So we track two boards, side by side, and publish both.

Food security

  • Yield per hectare on served farms
  • Post-harvest loss, before and after Ifenri
  • Quality and safety of food produced and processed
  • Smallholders reached through cooperatives
  • Supply reliability for buyers

Profit

  • Gross margin per hectare
  • Revenue per hectare and per customer
  • Margin on post-harvest and processing services
  • Payback period on machines and robots
  • Repeat rate and customer lifetime value

The levers

Every lever moves both boards

This is the core argument of the company, in one table. If a proposed product does not move at least one row here, it does not belong in the plan.

The data dividend

Health and other benefits come out of the data

Ifenri does not become a medical-device or clinical company. But every stage of the chain produces data, and that data supports nutrition, food safety, insurance, credit and climate planning through partnerships.

  • Nutrition and diet

Link what is grown and stored to what communities can actually access.

  • Food-safety surveillance

Flag crops, regions and storage conditions at higher contamination or spoilage risk.

  • Public-health partnerships

Share anonymised, consented data with health agencies, universities and NGOs.

  • Financial resilience

Insurance and credit that protect farm households from shocks that also harm health.

  • Climate and planning

Give government and partners evidence for food and health planning.

The hard half

Serving large buyers is easy. Reaching smallholders is the point.

If Ifenri only ever served commercial estates, the profit half of the goal would look excellent and the food-security half would be empty. So smallholders are reached through cooperatives, shared machinery and harvest-linked financing — and the smallholder count is tracked as a first-class KPI, not a footnote.

Honest cautions

What would break this

These are the failure modes the plan watches for. They are on the public impact page because a food-security claim that hides its own risks is not worth reading.

  • Do not do the whole chain at once. Farming first, then post-harvest, then processing, then market and data products.

  • Do not chase profit by serving only large buyers. Reach smallholders through cooperatives and financing, or the food-security half of the goal is empty.

  • Do not treat food safety casually. A single safety failure can end a food business.

  • Do not skip the service layer. Maintenance, training and financing are what make machines usable in Nigeria — and they are part of the moat.

  • Do not start with humanoid robots. Specialized field and handling machines create value sooner.

  • Check competitors honestly. Others already serve parts of this chain. Win where local presence and service matter.
