Ifenri

Investors

Robotics needs patient capital

Ifenri does not raise on a deck and a promise. It raises on what has already been proven — paying farms, repeat bookings, field data, clear unit economics and a robot doing a paid task. Here is the sequence, and what has to be true at each stage.

Funding strategy

Raise when the evidence exists, not before

Each stage below names the evidence that must already exist. If it does not, we stay at the previous stage and keep earning revenue — which is the cheapest capital available.

Bootstrap

Current stage
Raised when
From day one
Used for
Paid pilots, grants, leasing, personal savings, mapping revenue, first rover prototype
Evidence required
A cluster chosen, ten organizations willing to pay, a build log

Pre-seed

Next
Raised when
Paying farms, repeat bookings, working product, field data, clear unit economics, a working robot prototype
Used for
Fleet, pilot hiring, robotics engineer, software, compliance and insurance
Evidence required
Gate 1 passed, Gate R1 passed, 35%+ gross margin per hectare

Seed

Later
Raised when
Multi-cluster operations, strong margin, technician network, proprietary data, robot delivering paid tasks
Used for
Scale operations, platform, small-batch manufacturing
Evidence required
Gate 2 and Gate 3 passed; 30–50 farms; 60%+ repeat

Series A

Later
Raised when
Repeatable model, robots in service, a post-harvest or processing pilot underway
Used for
Manufacturing, regional expansion, post-harvest and processing assets, quality systems
Evidence required
Gate 4 passed; 5+ rugged units in service; supplier base

Growth

Later
Raised when
Revenue across the seed-to-table chain
Used for
Local manufacturing, Africa expansion, data products
Evidence required
Gate 5 and Gate 6 passed; consent framework and named data partners

Diligence frame

Judge us on the gates, not the narrative

The gates are the diligence checklist. Each has a pass condition and a stated response to failure, so you can see in advance how we behave when something does not work.

Week 2

Gate 0 — Demand

10 organizations willing to pay for a pilot

Month 3

Gate 1 — Unit economics

5+ paying farms, 50%+ reorder intent, positive margin per hectare

Month 12

Gate R1 — First robot

Robot delivers a paid task and the customer wants more

Month 9–12

Gate 2 — Repeatability

30+ farms, 60%+ repeat, 80%+ uptime, no preventable incidents

Month 18–24

Gate 3 — Platform

Core runs on 2+ machines; recurring revenue; operators joining

Year 2–3

Gate 4 — Manufacturing

Documented failures; 5+ rugged units in service; supplier base

Year 2 onward

Gate 5 — New chain stage

Platform fit, anchor partner, food-safety clarity, team, capital, dual test

Year 3 onward

Gate 6 — Data products

Consent framework, named partner, written purpose, data security

Capital sources

Where the money can come from

Status and eligibility of every source below must be confirmed directly — programme terms change, and this list is a set of leads rather than a set of commitments.

  • AGRA and SMEDAN agribusiness programmes

Grants and technical support — eligibility to be confirmed

  • FCMB agritech programmes

Bank-led agritech support — status to be confirmed

  • AYuTe Africa Challenge Nigeria

Competitive grant — status to be confirmed

  • Ventures Platform, Ilorin Innovation Hub

    Nigerian venture and hub programmes

  • State agripreneur programmes

    State-level mechanization and agribusiness schemes

  • Deep-tech and hardware accelerators

    For the robotics track specifically

  • University and research grants

For autonomy, perception and agricultural engineering work

  • Food-security funders and DFIs

For the post-harvest, processing and data stages

  • Equipment leasing and revenue-based financing

    Non-dilutive capital for machinery

  • Impact investors focused on food security

    Aligned with the dual scoreboard

In one paragraph

“Africa cannot feed itself profitably without machines, data, and skills built for its conditions. Ifenri makes food more secure and farming more profitable at the same time, from seed to table. We start with drone and robot services that pay per hectare, then cut losses after harvest, add processing with partners, and connect farms to buyers. Along the way we build a trusted data platform, and from that data come nutrition, food-safety, insurance, and health partnerships. We build and service the machines in Africa, for Africa.”

Start the conversation

Make food secure and farming profitable — at the same time

Tell us your crop, your hectares and where you lose money today. We will tell you honestly whether Ifenri can improve that hectare yet — and if we cannot, we will say so.

Farmers & cooperatives

Book mapping, scouting or machinery for your cluster. Pilots are paid and measured from the first hectare.

Book a field service

Buyers & processors

Talk to us about reliable, traceable supply and where the loss actually happens in your crop.

Discuss supply

Funders & partners

Read the working plan, the gates, and the unit economics before you commit a naira.
